Saving Hyrule

Wow! I hadn't realized how long it's been since I wrote the last post. I've been so busy with school, and work, and the website. The website seems to be taking FOREVER! we've got alot written down in notebooks. We have the whole wind waker walkthrough and the about 75% of the twilight princes walkthrough written down. I'm also typing up bits and pieces of the ocarina of time walkthrough when I get chances. Now that I'm not in school, I can spend my nights working on the site. I was looking for updates on phantom hourglass and I found a new description of the game and found out that it takes place several months after wind waker, and includes link and tetra and all of her pirates. For some reason, the other description that I read gave me the impression that it took place many years after wind waker. I like that it has the same main characters from wind waker and I'm getting very impatient for it's release. I'll try and keep you updated on the zelda news and also the news of my site, and I'm going to try to update more frequently.

Writing Walkthroughs

I never realized how much time and effort is put into writing walkthroughs untill I began writing for our new website. My goal with writing the walkthroughs is to create a walkthrough that is quick and easy to navigate. My friend has been working on the Wind Waker walkthrough for almost a month now. She says she'll be finished with it by sometime next week then we just have to put it on the site. My Ocarina of Time walkthrough is taking a bit longer since I have several essays that I also have to write for school. The walkthroughs are alot of work, but I really enjoy working on them. I've always loved Zelda games and have wanted to do something like this for a long time. I probably wont be posting over the next week because of finals, but after that I'll be doing alot more work on the site and posting things in my blog.

A friend and I have been working on our new Zelda website. We have a basic frame of the site set and are working on much more. Currently we are working on creating walkthroughs to add to the site. Once we finish the walkthroughs and have a little more info to put on the site, we want to purchase a better site that will allow us to add more. My New Website!

So I decided that before I spend money, I should make a practice website first. I signed up for a free site and began making it today. I'm going to post the link when it has a little more to it. It's time consuming and going to take a while. If anybody has any suggestions for what should be included on the site, please let me know. My goal is to make the ultimate zelda website with anything and everything a zelda fan could want. I also wanted to include a page with fan art, so if anybody wants to submit some artwork let me know. I'm also going to start working on a walkthrough for ocarina of time this week. I'm starting with that game because it's my favorite and I need to get myself ready for other walkthroughs.

Should I Make My Own Website?

I've been thinking about starting a website. It would be cool to make a website dedicated to Zelda. I could include pics, walkthroughs, music, and artwork. I've been doing research on how to create one and found this cool site. I'm still not sure if I can afford it....but it could be cool. I'll have to think about it for a while. The Evolution of Link

This pic sure brings back memories. It's amazing how much technology has advanced over the last twenty-something years. The conversation in the forum where I found this pic consisted of several people talking about which version was their favorite. I dont think I could ever choose a favorite. Each version brings back great memories of the time that I spent with each one. Zelda has always been a big part of my life and I've become attached to each of them for different reasons.

Gates to Hyrule Castle

When I was playing Ocarina of Time today I came across something that I've never noticed before. During the time period of adult link, I began to walk towards the fairy fountain by Gannon's Tower. When I came to where the gates outside the castle once were, I noticed that it looked like a bridge. So, I decided to explore and walked halfway across the "bridge" when Navi came out and began to fly next to the bridge and glow green. I have no idea what she was trying to tell me and have tried everything that I can think of. I played the sun's song, the song of time, the song of storms, and a couple of others. I finally gave up and it's been driving me crazy. I wonder if anybody else knows what it is??

Phantom Hourglass

I just watched the trailer for Phantom Hourglass and I have mixed feelings about it. The graphics aren't that great, but they seem better than the other gameboy Zelda games. I do like the cartoonish quality to it because it's less serious and more playful. I like the realistic games as well, but sometimes it's fun to play something goofy like Wind Waker. I was happy to see a fairy in the trailer because after playing Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, I miss my fairies. I became very attached to Navi and Tatl, even though they were almost as annoying as my kid sister at times. The Final Piece of Heart

I know that many people might not agree with me, but Ocarina of Time has always been one of my favorite Zelda games and will have a special place in my heart for the rest of my life. My father gave me a N64 and OoT for Christmas in 1998 and it instantly became my favorite of the Zelda games. Over the years I have played through OoT more times than I can count, and up until a few months ago, I always finished one piece of heart shy of having the full twenty heart containers. My problem wasn't finding it. It was right on top of a large rock formation at the entrance to the fire temple. My problem was reaching it. My mother and I tried everything from hookshoting to it, to climbing up the rock formation, to jumping off of the ledge on the other side of Death Mountain Crater. That piece of heart drove me crazy up until a few months ago when I accidentally warped to the fire temple as young link. There was a soft spot in the dirt for a bean plant right in front of me. I felt so stupid that I had never thought to warp to the crater as young link because I assumed that since it was too hot for him to stay there for longer than a couple minutes, there was nothing there for him. Those twenty heart containers were the most beautiful thing I had ever seen!

Twilight Princess: Gamecube vs. Wii

When we found out that Twilight Princess would be realeased for both the Gamecube and the Wii, the first thing my boyfriend said to me was that I needed to use the money that I've been saving to buy the Wii. I'm not a wealthy person, so I had to do alot of research concerning the Wii before I decided to spend a couple hundred dollars on it.

One of the most important differences between the two systems was the graphics. I've heard that the graphics of the Wii are like 100 times better than the Gamecube, but I'm not the type of person who really notices the graphics. I watched some teens playing theTwilight Princess demo at the mall and I didn't see a difference that was worth the extra money.

I admit that the Wii controllers are a pretty cool idea. I was ready to buy the Wii just because I wanted to use those controllers. When I was observing the teens playing the demo at the mall, I noticed that they were having problems using the controller. They rarely hit what they were aiming at and quickly became frustrated. I began questioning my mom's ability to play the game if these teens were having trouble. It just wasn't worth the extra money, in my opinion.

I had to wait longer for the release of Twilight Princess, but it was worth it. I got to enjoy my game without worrying about weither or not I wasted my money. The game is amazing and the graphics are still better than any other Gamecube game that I've seen.

Phantom Hourglass

I'm counting the long months until the newest Zelda game is released. For those of you who are unaware, Nintendo has been developing a Legend of Zelda game for the DS.

The game, titled The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, features graphics very similar to the graphics in Windwaker. Although the cartoonish graphics will make the game unrealistic, I find that it puts me in a good mood when I look at it.

Currently, the game's release date is sometime between October and December. I suppose I'll have to play another Zelda game until then.

Welcome to my newest blog! I've had other blogs before, but they all seemed random and soon died. So I decided to start new and keep a blog based on my favorite subject, all Legend of Zelda video games.

Throughout my life, I have played more versions of Zelda than I can keep track of. My mom introduced me to the original Zelda game when I was about two years old. I would stay up as late as I could to watch her play. My love for the game has only grown over the years.

I want to thank you for showing an interest in my new blog. I hope you enjoy the future posts! :)
